Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the role of the Georgian sports and Olympic movement in the country in the development of the international Olympic movement, press service of Georgian prime minister told Trend on Oct.10.

The preparations for the Tbilisi 2015 - European Youth Olympic Festival were discussed during the meeting.

During the meeting, Garibashvili said that Georgia is the first country among the post-Soviet states, which had the honor of hosting the festival, adding that this is a proof of the great trust of the European Olympic Committee.

He expressed gratitude to the president of the European Olympic Committee for taking part in the events marking the 25th anniversary of Georgian National Olympics Committee.

The meeting was also attended by President of the European Olympic Committee (EOC), Patrick Hickey and Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs of Georgia Levan Kipiani.
