A protest rally of the United National Movement party (UNM) of the former Georgian president Mikhail Saakashvili will be held in Tbilisi Nov.15.

The rally will begin on Rose Square at 4 p.m. (GMT+5 hours). A number of streets in the vicinity of the central square will be closed in connection with the rally in Tbilisi.

The party said that the purpose of the rally is a protest against the annexation of Georgia by Russia and against the inaction of the government of Georgia.

"We decided to hold a protest rally, which aims to bring our voice both to the government and the international community," said the executive secretary of the party Zurab Japaridze.

On the night of August 8, 2008, military actions were launched on the territory of South Ossetia, Georgia. Later the Russian troops occupied the city and drove back the Georgian military. In late August, Russia recognized the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. In response, Tbilisi broke off diplomatic relations with Moscow and announced two unrecognized republics as occupied territories.
