Tbilisi, Georgia, Nov. 30
By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend:
A freight train derailed Nov. 30 in the western Georgia.
The Georgian Trade Union of Railwaymen said the accident took place due to the lack of professionalism of train operators, who are hired by the Georgian Railways amid an ongoing strike in the country.
It should be noted that the strike of railway workers has been going on in Georgia for five days.
The trade union said the accident, which didn't cause any casualties, is serious and the traffic near the Samtredia station has been paralyzed for a few hours.
Meanwhile, the administration of the Georgian Railway dismissed the accusations that the trains are operated by lay persons.
