According to the draft budget, Georgia will reduce the minimum subsistence level in 2022, and 500 million Georgian lari ($160.9 million) will be spent on this, Trend reports via Georgian media.
The expenses related to the management of the COVID-19 pandemic (mobilization of medical institutions, treatment costs, testing and research, vaccinations, etc.) for 2022 will be decreased by 310 million Georgian lari ($99.7 million) to 500 million Georgian lari ($160.9 million).
Thus, Georgian government allocated 1.7 billion Georgian lari ($557.8 million) for the healthcare, which has been reduced by 276.6 million Georgian lari ($89 million), compared to 2021.
Georgian universal healthcare funding will also increase by 20 million Georgian lari ($6.4 million) to 820 million Georgian lari ($263.9 million) in 2022.
The initial draft of the 2022 budget may be adjusted before the approval.
