Turkish Airlines transported the largest number of people in Georgia, over the first 9 months of 2021, accounting for 12 percent in the total passenger traffic, Trend reports via Georgian AviaNews.

The figures of the reporting period of 2021 are equal to the figures of the same period of 2020, however, increasing by 1 percent, compared to the same period of 2019.

According to the Civil Aviation Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Turkish Airlines carried 189,457 passengers from January through September 2021.

Ukrainian low-cost airline SkyUp Airlines' passenger traffic accounted for 10 percent of the Georgian aviation sector, carrying 160,694 passengers from January through September 2021. SkyUp Airlines improved its position by 5 percent, compared to 2020, and by 7 percent, compared to the same period of 2019.

The rest of the list includes Belavia Belarusian Airlines, Turkish Pegasus Airlines, Hungarian Wizz Air, the United Arab Emirates airline flydubai, Georgian Airways, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), Bees Airline, Air Astana, FlyArystan, Israir Airlines, Ukraine International Airlines (FlyUIA), LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Air Arabia, Aircompany Armenia, EL Al Israel Airlines, YanAir, and Qatar Airways.

The decrease or the increase of the percentage for the airline depends on the total passenger flow in a particular year and the number of passengers carried by a particular airline during the reporting period.

Due to the regulations imposed because of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, most of the airlines carried out limited flights in/out of Georgia.
