Georgia's imports of gasoline and diesel fuel from January through September 2021 amounted to 854,500 tons, which is an increase of 5.8 percent, compared to 807,500 tons of fuel over the reporting period of 2020, Trend reports via the Union of Oil Products Importers of Georgia.
Meanwhile, gasoline imports over first 9 months of 2021 amounted to 445,400 tons, which is an increase of 14.8 percent, compared to 388,000 over the same period of 2020.
Georgia’s diesel fuel imports from January through September 2021 decreased by 2.5 percent to 409,100 tons, compared to the same period of 2020.
TOP-5 exporters of gasoline and diesel fuel to Georgia (Jan. through Sept. 2021):
Turkmenistan – 194,900 tons (22.8 percent of total share);
Azerbaijan – 168,500 tons (19.7 percent of total share);
Russia – 164,200 tons (19.2 percent of total share);
Bulgaria – 137,700 tons (16.1 percent of total share);
Romania – 131,000 tons (15.3 percent of total share).
Turkmenistan became the largest supplier of gasoline fuel to Georgia over first 9 months of 2021, due to the relatively low price, amounting to 134,800 tons (only RON-91 type), which is 30.3 percent of total gasoline imports.
Azerbaijan was the largest supplier of diesel fuel to Georgia from January through September 2021, importing 168,500 tons, which is an increase of 5.7 percent, compared to 159,300 tons over the same period of 2020.
