SOCAR Georgia Gas LTD will invest 41.6 million Georgian lari ($13.1 million) in Georgian gas sector, within the framework of the investment project of the Georgian National Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (GNERC) in 2022-2026, Trend reports via Georgian media.
According to the project, SOCAR Georgia Gas plans to regulate the accounting, build additional infrastructure, etc.
The GNERC has agreed on investments to be made by several natural gas distribution companies in 2022-2026. The total volume of investments to be made by the companies over 5 years is up to 123 million Georgian lari ($38.9 million).
Tbilisi Energy LTD will invest 32.9 million Georgian lari ($10.4 million). Within the framework of investment projects agreed with the Commission, the company will provide rehabilitation of the distribution network in Tbilisi and nearby villages.
The volume of Sakorggaz JSC investment is 43.8 million Georgian lari ($13.8 million). The company will provide for the regulation of metering, replacement of meters and removal from the living space, rehabilitation of gas pipeline sections.
Telavgazi LTD will invest 3.9 million Georgian lari ($1.2 million) in the replacement of depreciated meters, the improvement of the gas quality, and diversification of the supply sources.
The investment volume of Sachkheregaz JSC is 445,000 Georgian lari ($140,822). The company will ensure implementation of projects related to network reliability and sustainability, efficient operation, replacement of damaged and obsolete assets.
The investment volume to be implemented by Didi Dighomi LTD in the scheduled period is 63,602 Georgian lari ($20,127). Within the framework of the investment plan agreed with the Commission, the company will provide for the replacement of damaged or obsolete assets.
