Georgian wine exports increase

Georgia’s revenues from wine exports from January through October 2021 reached $194 million, which is an increase of 9 percent, compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports via National Wine Agency of Georgia.

The amount of wine exported also increased by 11 percent, the Agency said.

TOP-5 importers of Georgian's wine (Jan. through Oct. 2021):

Russia – $49 million (5 percent increase);

Ukraine – $10.5 million (21 percent increase);

Poland – $4.9 million (20 percent increase);

China – $4.5 million (13 percent increase);

Belarus – $3.3 million (17 percent increase).

Meanwhile, 400 companies exported different volumes of wine from Georgia, the statement said.

According to the statement, 30.4 million bottles (0.5 l) of brandy were exported, which is 15 percent more than over the same period in 2020. Revenues from brandy exports reached $57.7 million (increase of 8 percent).

About 730,000 bottles (0.5 l) of chacha were exported, the export growth was 90 percent. Revenues from chacha exports reached $1.8 million, while the growth was 77 percent, compared to the same period of 2020.

“Exports of wine, brandy, Chacha, brandy spirits and brandy on tap amounted to $310 million in revenues, up 13 percent, compared to the same period of 2020,” the statement said.
