Georgian companies sign export agreement with international partners

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 17

Georgian companies have signed export agreement with foreign partners at the Anuga international exhibition of food and beverage in Cologne, Germany, worth 3.7 million Georgian lari ($1.1 million), Trend reports via Enterprise Georgia.

“The agency continues to work actively on exports. Some 16 Georgian companies participated at the exhibition with our support and within a month after the end of the exhibition they have already signed an export agreement,” Mikheil Khidureli, the CEO of the Enterprise Georgia, said.

Georgia participated at the exhibition for the fourth time in a row, with the support of “Produce in Georgia” state program. The aim was to establish business relations with potential foreign partners and customers, to popularize Georgia's export potential and to diversify its export markets.

During the exhibition, Georgian companies held about 300 meetings with representatives of the business sector from around the world, including Germany, Austria, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, Poland, Great Britain, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Kuwait, the US, Canada.

“Apart from participating in international exhibitions, this year we have introduced Georgian entrepreneurs to business export, which aims to promote export growth and import substitution. In addition to subsidizing and securing loan interest, the program also offers a grant component to entrepreneurs,” Khidureli said.
