Georgia reveals top exported goods to Russia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 24

Georgia's exports to Russia from January through June 2021 amounted to $481.8 million, which is an increase of 37.2 percent, compared to $351.1 million over the same period of 2020, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office (Geostat).

Russia’s share in the total Georgian exports accounted for 14.2 percent over the first 10 months of 2021, compared to 12.9 percent over the same period of 2020.

TOP-5 Georgia's commodities exported to Russia (Jan. through Oct. 2021):

- Ferro-alloys – $134.3 million (an increase of 45.8 percent, compared to $92.1 million over the same period of 2020);

- Wine – $106 million (an increase of 11.4 percent, compared to $95.1 million over the same period of 2020);

- Mineral water – $50.5 million (an increase of 50.2 percent, compared to $33.6 million over the same period of 2020);

- Alcoholic beverages – $29.6 million (an increase of 17.4 percent, compared to $25.2 million over the same period of 2020);

- Fresh fruits – $26.6 million (an increase of 33.6 percent, compared to $19.9 million over the same period of 2020).

Thus, Russia remained one of the TOP-3 of Georgian export partners in the reporting period of 2021, alongside China ($520.6 million) and Azerbaijan ($443.4 million).
