The foreign trade turnover between Georgia and Turkmenistan from January through October 2021 increased by 142.1 percent, compared to $71.6 million over the same period of 2020, and amounted to $173.4 million, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).
According to Geostat, Georgia’s imports from Turkmenistan from January through October 2021 amounted to $164.2 million. The current figure increased by 170.4 percent, compared to $60.7 million over the same period of 2020.
According to Geostat, the share of Turkmenistan in total exports to Georgia in the reporting period of 2021 accounted for 2.1 percent.
Thus, Turkmenistan ranks 10 among main exporters to Georgia over the first 10 months of 2021, the report said.
Meanwhile, Georgia’s exports to Turkmenistan over the reporting period of 2021 totaled $9.1 million, which is a decrease of 15.7 percent, compared to $10.8 worth of exports over the first 10 months of 2021, the report said.
