The number of international visitors traveling to Georgia through Tbilisi International Airport from January through December 2021 amounted to 568,149 people, which is an increase of 180.4 percent, compared to 199,093 visitors in the same period of 2020, Trend reports via Georgian National Tourism Administration.
However, the same figure decreased by 58.1 percent, compared to 1.3 million tourists traveling to Georgia through Tbilisi Airport over 2019.
The share of Tbilisi Airport by the visitor inflow to Georgia in 2021 accounted for 33 percent.
Batumi International Airport received 221,853 tourists in 2021, which is 11 times more, than in 2020 (19,868 visitors).
The same index decreased by 14.1 percent, compared to 258,159 visitors coming to Georgia through Batumi Airport over the same period of 2019.
Batumi Airport accounted for 12.9 percent of the total visitor inflow to Georgia over 2021.
The number of visitors traveling to Georgia through Kutaisi International Airport in 2021 totaled 87,156 people – an increase of 86.7 percent, compared to 46,693 people in 2020.
International visitor inflow through Kutaisi Airport decreased by 59.6 percent in 2021, compared to 2019, when 215,556 people visited Georgia.
The share of Kutaisi Airport in the total inflow in 2021 accounted for 5.1 percent.
Meanwhile, the total number of international visitors to Georgia from January through December 2021 amounted to 1.8 million visitors, which is an increase of 7.7 percent, compared to 1.7 million over the same period of 2020.
