Georgia names main trading partners by export destinations in 2021

Georgia’s exports in 2021 amounted to $4.2 billion, which is an increase of 26.9 percent, compared to $3.3 billion in 2020, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).

The share of the top ten trading partners by exports in total Georgia’s exports in the reporting period of 2021 amounted to 77.3 percent, the report said.

Meanwhile, China ranked first among Georgia’s main trading partners by exports. Georgia’s exports to China in 2021 amounted to $615.5 million – an increase of 29 percent, compared to $477.2 million in 2020. China’s share in total Georgia’s exports in 2021 accounted for 14.5 percent (14.3 percent in 2020).

Russia is second on the list with $610 million worth of Georgia’s exports – an increase of 38.3 percent, compared to $441.1 million in 2020. Russia’s share in total Georgia’s exports in 2021 accounted for 14.4 percent.

Azerbaijan ranked third among top Georgia’s trading partners by exports in 2021. The amount of Georgia’s exports to Azerbaijan totaled $531.7 million, which is an increase of 20.5 percent, compared to $441.2 million in 2020. Azerbaijan’s share in total Georgia’s exports accounted for 12.5 percent.

Georgia’s foreign trade turnover (excluding non-declared trade) in 2021 amounted to $14.3 billion, which is an increase of 25.6 percent, compared to $11.3 billion over 2020.
