The largest volume of Georgia’s exports from January through December 2021 accounted for maritime transport, which amounted to $2 billion, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).
The figure of the current year has increased by 33.3 percent, compared to $1.5 billion over 2020, the report said.
The second-biggest means of transport by exports in Georgia over 2021 was vehicle transport, which amounted to $1.8 billion – an increase of 38.4 percent, compared to $1.3 million over 2020.
Air transport ranked third among the leading means of transport in Georgia over 2021, with a total of $233.8 million of exported goods. Although, air transport showed a decrease of 10.5 percent in 2021, compared to $261.3 million over 2020.
The remaining share of Georgian exports in 2021 accounted for rail transport ($164.5 million) and other means of transport ($15.3 million).
Meanwhile, Georgia’s total exports in 2021 amounted to $4.2 billion, which is an increase of 26.9 percent, compared to $3.3 billion in 2020.
