Almost all fuel types in Georgia increase in price

Georgia saw an increase in prices for almost all types of fuel in January 2022, Trend reports via Georgian media.

In particular, over the month, the price of RON-92 gasoline increased by 6.8 percent to 3.16 Georgian lari ($1.04) per liter, while the price for RON-95 gasoline increased by 5.09 percent and the average price was about 3.25 Georgian lari ($1.07) per liter. RON-98 gasoline also decreased by 5.08 percent and its average price on the market became 3.33 Georgian lari ($1.10) per liter.

The price for diesel fuel increased by 8.6 percent and an average price per liter was 3.19 Georgian lari ($1.05).

However, the price for liquefied petroleum gas in Georgia decreased by 0.3 percent and amounted to 1.89 Georgian lari (62 cents).

Meanwhile, according to the Union of Petroleum Products Importers of Georgia, an increase of 22 percent has already been observed since the beginning of the year, and fuel prices may increase to a total of 25 tetri (8 cents) in the long term.

“Despite positive trends in regard with the national currency’s stability, fuel prices have already increased in Georgia. Nevertheless, the next increase will not be as drastic as expected,” the Union said.
