The number of visitors from Turkey traveling to Georgia in February 2022 totaled 29,606 people, which is an increase of 85.2 percent compared to the same period of 2021 (15,983 visitors), Trend reports via Georgian National Tourism Administration.
However, the same figure decreased by 53.7 percent, compared to 63,925 visitors in February 2020, and by 51.9 percent, compared to 61,594 people over the same period of 2019 (before the COVID-19 pandemic).
The number of visitors from Turkey to Georgia in the reporting period also decreased by 6.8 percent, compared to January 2022 (31,775).
Thus, Turkey ranked first among TOP-10 main countries of origin for visitors arriving in Georgia in February 2022, followed by Russia (20,876), and Armenia (17,366).
Meanwhile, the total number of international visitors to Georgia in February 2022 totaled 165,626 people, which is an increase of 293.6 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 (42,075).
However, the same figure decreased by 64.5 percent, compared to the reporting period of 2020 (466,409), and by 64.7 percent, compared to February 2019 (469,545).
