BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 17. Georgia’s revenues from visitors from Azerbaijan in February 2022 amounted to $4.2 million, which is a 5-times increase, compared to $800,000 over the same month of 2021, Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

However, the revenues from Azerbaijani visitors to Georgia in the reporting period of 2022 decreased by 72.9 percent, compared to February 2020 ($15.5 million), and by 14.2 percent, compared to January 2022 ($4.9 million).

Thus, Azerbaijan ranks 6 among the main countries of origin for money spending in Georgia in February 2022, the report said. Meanwhile, the EU countries ranked first with $16.2 million, followed by Russia ($14.7 million), and Turkey ($11.9 million).

Meanwhile, the amount of visitors from Azerbaijan traveling to Georgia in February 2022 amounted to 7,562 people, which is an increase of 91.4 percent, compared to the same month of 2021 (3,950).

Georgia’s total income from foreign visitors in February 2022 decreased by 7.7 percent, compared to January 2022 ($114 million), and amounted to $105.2 million.
