US reveals volume of financial assistance to Georgia in 2023

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 29. The US will allocate Georgia $88 million in financial assistance next year, Trend reports via the US draft budget for fiscal year 2023.

According to the document, the US assistance is aimed at supporting Georgia’s democratic and economic development, as well as Euro-Atlantic integration. The funding will be intended for increasing energy security, and supporting clean energy, digitalization and cyber security development, the expansion of private sector, foreign investments attraction, and many other issues.

In particular, Georgia will receive $5 million through the USAID’s Global Health Programs, $4.4 million - through the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INCLE), and $1.1 million - through Nonproliferation, Anti-Terrorism, Demining and Related Programs (NADR).

Another $1.1 million the US will provide Georgia through the International Military Education and Training (IMET), and $25 million - through the Foreign Military Finance (FMF).
