BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 8. Fitch Ratings forecast Georgia’s average annual inflation rate in 2022 at 10 percent, Trend reports via the agency.
According to Fitch ratings, the current index increased by 4.5 percentage points compared to the previous forecast that envisaged Georgia’s inflation rate in the current year at 5.5 percent.
“Price controls on key products have been introduced or extended in a number of sovereigns, which will have a fiscal cost, although this will be minor relative to growth and commodity price effects,” the agency said.
Fitch Ratings noted that the monetary policy will continue to be tightened in Georgia as well, further slowing inflation rate growth.
