BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 11. Bank of Georgia has provided financing in the amount of 1.02 million Georgian lari ($332,247) for solar power panels’ installation in Georgia’s Kakhetian Traditional Winery (KTW), one of the largest wine and spirits producers in the country, Trend reports via the Bank.

The Bank continues to offer support for Georgian business within the framework of its “Energocredit” financial product, the aim of which is to reduce electricity costs, and, consequently, take care of the environment.

“The annual energy consumption of the enterprise is about 900,000 kW, and the energy generated by the solar power plant is about 590,000 kW. This means that the annual effect of the generated energy will reach 65 percent, which will allow the enterprise to save about 200,000 Georgian lari ($65,146),” Koba Kharkheli, representative of KTW, said.

He added that in the long term the enterprise plans to install solar power plants in Manavi, Velistsikhe, Chokhatauri and Daba Keda factories as well.

“The advantage of 'Energocredit' is that in addition to taking care of the environment and reducing costs, it allows businesses to use the freed financial resources to develop their own business. Bank of Georgia will continue to actively offer products and services tailored to the needs of businesses,” Sandro Dzagnidze, Deputy Director of the Bank of Georgia Corporate Banking Department, said.
