BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 14. Georgia’s revenues from tourism in 2022 are expected to restore by 60-75 percent of the 2019 level (before the COVID-19 pandemic), compared to the previous forecast of 85-percent recovery, Trend reports via the economic review from the Galt & Taggart investment bank.

According to the review, the revenues from tourism in Georgia in the first quarter of 2022 amounted to $343.7 million, which is an increase of 541.8 percent, compared to the same period of 2021, and only 59.4 percent, compared to the reporting period of 2019.

Meanwhile, according to the latest data from the National Tourism Administration, the number of international visitors to Georgia in March 2022 amounted to 211,484 visitors, which is an increase of 266.3 percent, compared to 57,728 over the same period of 2021.

Overall, in the first quarter of 2022 the number of visitors to Georgia totaled 500,000 people, which is an increase of 294.6 percent, compared to the same period of last year, and 52.1 percent, compared to the reporting period of 2019.
