BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. Amid the hostilities between Russia and Ukraine, and the subsequent delay of the transportation through the two countries’ Black Sea ports, the cargo turnover through Azerbaijani-Georgian corridor has rapidly increased, CEO of Poti Free Industrial Zone (FIZ) David Ebralidze said, Trend reports via Georgian media.
According to the CEO, the shutdown of Ukrainian and Russian seaports in the Black Sea has posed a new challenge in the search for an alternative transport corridor.
Ebralidze added that soon Georgia may see a huge increase in cargo turnover through Central Asia, which will positively impact the development of new logistics centers in the region.
