(geotimes.ge) - Sean McCormack, the U.S. Department of State Spokesman, stated that the price on gas for Georgia should be determined according to situation on the market.
He also noted that Russia should be a good partner for its clients and a reliable supplier of energy, reports Trend.
We believe that market forces should determine the price levels. So Georgia and Gazprom are going to work out a price, McCormack stated.
Russia's state-controlled natural-gas monopoly Gazprom stated on November 03 that it would more than double the price of gas for Georgia. The Gazprom has proposed that it would increase the price from the current $110 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas up to $230.
