Georgia And Turkey mark 15th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations

( Prime-News ) - Under the aegis of the Embassy of Georgia in Ankara and the Center for Eurasian Strategic Studies (ASAM), an international conference will be held on May 23 titled "Georgia and Turkey: Partners for Security, Stability and Welfare".

Prime-News was told about that at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.

According to their information, the above-mentioned event is dedicated to the 15th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Republic of Turkey.

On May 24, the Georgian Embassy will host a ceremonial reception dedicated to the above-said date and Independence Day of Georgia. First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Valeri Chechelashvili will take part in these events.

The 15th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Republic of Turkey was marked on May. In this connection Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Gela Bezhuashvili received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Georgia Ertan Tezgor. The sides exchanged copies of congratulatory letters of the Presidents, Prime Ministers and Foreign Ministers of Georgia and the Republic of Turkey.

The sides remarked with satisfaction on the establishment in the last 15 years of dynamic cooperation between the two countries on the basis of good neighborhood, friendliness and mutual understanding that took a form of result-oriented partnership after the Rose Revolution. In parallel to bilateral relations, regional cooperation has entered into a new dimension. The sides reaffirmed their will to exert maximum efforts for the cause of strengthening security and stability and ensuring sustainable economic growth in the region.
