Turkey reveals figures on textile raw materials export to world markets

Turkey increased export of textile raw materials to world markets in January-February 2020, Turkey’s Ministry of Trade told Trend on March 10.

According to the ministry, during the reported period, Turkey’s export of textile raw materials to foreign markets has exceeded $1.3 billion, which is 0.4 percent more compared to January-February 2019.

In January-February 2020, Turkey’s export of textile raw materials made up 4.5 percent of the country’s total export, the ministry noted.

“In February 2020, Turkey’s export of textile raw materials to world markets amounted to $647.5 million, which is 1.2 percent more compared to same month of 2019,” the ministry said.

Turkey’s export of textile raw materials in February 2020 made up 4.4 percent of the country’s total export.

“During the last twelve months, i.e. from February 2019 through February 2020, Turkey's export of textile raw materials has exceeded $7.9 billion,” the ministry added.

Turkey’s foreign trade turnover in January 2020 made up $33.9 billion.

During the reported period, export from Turkey has increased by 6.4 percent compared to January 2019, making up $14.7 billion.

In January 2020, Turkey's import increased by 18.8 percent compared to the same month of 2019 and made up $19.2 billion.
