BAKU. Azerbaijan. August 30. The competition will take place at the Monza circuit.

The program of the 16th round of the 2024 "Formula-1" World Championship - the Italian Grand Prix - starts on Friday at the Monza circuit, Trend reports.

The balance of power in the championship has changed somewhat compared to the start of the season. "McLaren" have taken the lead from "Red Bull" and are now the fastest team on the track. However, the leader of the Austrian team, Dutchman Max Verstappen, still has a comfortable advantage in the personal standings, ahead of Briton Lando Norris of "McLaren" by 70 points. But in the "Constructors' Cup", "Red Bull" is only 30 points ahead of "McLaren". Before the stage in Italy, there was one change in the teams - the management of "Williams" decided to prematurely end cooperation with the American Logan Sargent, who will be replaced in the team by the Argentine Franco Colapinto.

The Italian Grand Prix is one of the oldest stages of the world championship, it has been held continuously since the very first season of "Formula-1". All races are traditionally held at the Monza circuit. The only exception was the 1980 stage, which was held in Imola. The track is one of the fastest - the average speed of a lap is 240 km/h.

The record holders for the number of victories at the Italian Grand Prix are seven-time world champions Lewis Hamilton of Great Britain and Michael Schumacher of Germany, both of whom crossed the finish line first five times. Of the current pilots, Spaniard Fernando Alonso and Verstappen have won here twice, while Monegasque Charles Leclerc, Australian Daniel Ricciardo and Frenchman Pierre Gasly have won once each.

Завершится программа этапа воскресной гонкой.
