A reconciliation pact between the rival Palestinian factions Fatah and Hamas will be signed in Cairo on October 26, the Egyptian Foreign Minister, Ahmed Ali Aboul Gheit said, RIA Novosti reported.
Foreign Minister Ahmed Ali Aboul Gheit made this statement following his meeting with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas in Jordan.
Egypt has set the signing of a reconciliation pact between the rival Palestinian factions Fatah and Hamas for October, Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal said in Cairo on Sept. 29.
Following his meeting with Chief of the Egyptian intelligence, Omar Suleiman, Meshaal said that the document of national reconciliation initiated by Egypt, will concern the elections to the President Administration and the Legislative Assembly, the terms of which will be set soon.
Hamas also demands the national administration to release all political prisoners from prison.
