Yemeni army said on Tuesday it killed dozens of rebels in separate attacks in northern Yemen, the ruling General People's Congress said on its website.

Yemeni army said on Tuesday it killed dozens of rebels in separate attacks in northern Yemen, the ruling General People's Congress said on its website, Xinhua reported.
  
An unidentified military source said the army has successfully destroyed one of the rebels' most fortified strongholds in Saada province and killed 13 of them, while a rebel sniper was killed while he was firing at a military zone in the province.
  
In a separate attack, the government forces took the control of a vantage point from Houthi rebels after a fierce battle during which two insurgents were killed. The Yemeni forces in cooperation with local citizens killed six more insurgents in the mountainous areas of Saada.
  
Meanwhile, the Yemeni army said it has successfully destroyed an arms cache in Saada. A series of explosions followed the attack which the governmental forces say claimed the lives of many insurgents.
  
Meanwhile, Yemeni Interior Ministry said it has arrested 18 Shiite rebels in Saada within the past few hours and remanded them in custody for pending investigations.
