A Palestinian militant was wounded Thursday during an Israeli military strike in southeast Gaza Strip, witnesses and ambulance workers said, Xinhua reported.

According to the witnesses, a missile struck a group of gunmen affiliated with Islamic Jihad movement in Abbassan neighborhood to the east of Khan Younis city, injuring one militant.

Mu'awia Hassanein, the director of ambulance service, said "a Palestinian was wounded with shrapnel in his right leg."

Hamas, which controls Gaza, maintains a shaky ceasefire with Israel. However, areas along Gaza-Israel borders witness cross- border shootings from time to time.

In the West Bank, the Israeli army arrested 11 Palestinians during raids in several cities, Palestinian police said.

Raids take place on daily basis despite security agreements between Israel and the Palestinian National Authority (PNA).
