More than 5,000 Uzbeks will visit Saudi Arabia this year to make the Hajj, the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan said today.
The pilgrims are visiting Saudi Arabia on special flights provided by Uzbekistan Airways.
Hotels in Medina and Mecca have been leased for their accommodation. They will be accompanied by a working group consisting of doctors and cooks.
According to the Uzbek State Religious Affairs Committee, there are over 2,220 religious organizations registered in the country, belonging to 16 confessions. Over 90 percent are Muslim organizations.
