Afghan Foreign Minister Zalmai Rasoul on Thursday described terrorism and extremism as stigma and called on Muslim countries to fight the menace.

"Terrorists and extremists by carrying subversive activities in the name of Islam are defaming Islam. It is the joint responsibility of the Muslim countries to fight against terrorism and extremism," Rasoul told reporters in a press conference after returning home from Egypt and European tour, Xinhua reported.

Afghan government, he added, is determined to strengthen the war on terror and in this regard would enhance cooperation with all the nations particularly with the regional countries and Islamic nations.

The Afghan top diplomat also said that Egyptian government as well as Turkish, Italian and German leaders had once again expressed their firm support to the rebuilding process of Afghanistan.
