Four gunmen identified as relatives of former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein were arrested after they killed two policemen and injured two others on Friday, police sources said, DPA reported.
The four gunmen were arrested after they attacked the checkpoint in Tikrit city, 170 kilometres north of Baghdad.
The area around Tikrit is predominantly Sunni Muslim and is famous as being the home town of Saddam, who was ousted in the US-led invastion in 2003.
