Qatar's Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani on Thursday started a three-day state visit to Austria that focuses on furthering bilateral economic ties, Xinhua reported.
The Qatar leader was received by Austrian President Heinz Fischer at a formal ceremony in Vienna before the two leaders held a one-on-one meeting at the Presidential Palace.
Later, they attended a bilateral economic meeting and a signing ceremony for bilateral agreements, including those on reciprocal avoidance of double taxation and cooperation in civil aviation.
The emir, who was accompanied by some Qatar cabinet ministers and a business delegation during the visit, also attended a round- table conference on bilateral economic cooperation.
According to data provided by the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and Association, this year, Austrian exports to Qatar amounted to 30 million euros (about 39.84 million U.S. dollars).
