Saudi Arabian King Abdullah has arrived in Morocco for convalescence after undergoing two back surgery operations in the United States, Saudi state media said on Saturday, DPA reported.
Abdullah "arrived in Casablanca in the Kingdom of Morocco today from New York to complete physical therapy and recovery," the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Moroccan King Mohammed VI received Abdullah at Casablanca airport.
Two months ago, Abdullah travelled to the US for a back operation after he was diagnosed with a blood clot on the spine and a herniated disc. He then had a second operation to repair several vertebrae.
The Saudi monarch "is scheduled to spend few weeks in Morocco for recuperating," the agency said.
King Abdullah, believed to be 86 years old, became king in 2005, but has been running Saudi affairs since the mid-1990s when his half- brother, King Fahd, suffered a massive stroke.
His health problem have raised concerns about who is going to succeed him in ruling the Kingdom, the world's biggest oil exporter.
