Iranian acting Foreign Minister
Ali Akbar Salehi and Syrian top diplomat Walid Muallem stressed boosting strategic ties and supported a Lebanese solution for the country, ISNA reported.
Salehi who is in Syria in a meeting with Muallem highlighted Damascus's special status in the region and urged boosting Tehran-Damascus relations.
Iranian acting Foreign Minister also called for strengthening bilateral ties on economy, culture, trade and science.
Also regarding recent developments in Lebanon and Iraq, Salehi expressed satisfaction over formation of a comprehensive government in Iraq and its improved security condition.
He also stressed regional cooperation to help stability, security and welfare in the region.
Walid Muallem on his part called Tehran-Damascus relations "strategic" and expressed satisfaction over growing bilateral ties.
He also said attempts to halt Syrian-Saudi plan seeks disturbing calm and stability in Lebanon.
