The Egyptian Armed Forces on Friday vowed to guarantee the implementation of promises of reform made by President Hosny Mubarak, DPA reported.
The military vowed to guarantee to "end the state of emergency" after the current situation ends, "implement legislative reforms" and "to respect court rulings regarding disputed seats in parliament," the Higher Council of the Egyptian Armed Forces said in a statement read on state television.
The Emergency Law, which has been in effect in Egypt since 1981, grants police wide-ranging powers.
