Britain is preparing to deploy fighter aircraft to take part in an International operation to enforce the UN Security Council's resolution on Libya, Prime Minister David Cameron said Friday, DPA reported.

Cameron said that Tornado and Typhoon aircraft would be moved to air bases "in the coming hours" from where they could be deployed.

British refuelling and surveillance aircraft would also be deployed.

"We are backing up our words with action," said Cameron.

The situation in Libya required swift action, Cameron told parliament.

Cameron praised the "remarkable" contribution Arab states had made to the UN-sanctioned operation.
