Britain's military involvement in Iraq comes to a final conclusion with the withdrawal of Royal Navy trainers this weekend, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) in London said Wednesday, dpa reported
The mission to train Iraqi sailors at the country's main naval base in southern Iraq ends Sunday, said the MoD.
Most British forces, deployed in Iraq since the 2003 US-led invasion, pulled out in July 2009 from the southern city of Basra, where they had been based.
But a small contingent stayed on for training purposes.
