The Yemeni air force mistakenly attacked a mosque in the southern part of the country, killing seven civilians, Arab media reported Monday.
The strikes were aimed at suspected al-Qaeda posts in Jaar, Al Arabiya channel reported.
The raid was supposed to hit a small mosque occupied by al-Qaeda militants, but instead hit the city's main mosque, a local hospital and a police building, according to the report.
Yemen's armed forces have carried out a series of raids in the region, on posts occupied by Islamist militants with alleged al-Qaeda links, DPA reported.
