Anti-regime activists accused Syrian security forces of killing three civilians, including a child, in the central city of Homs, as heavy shelling against protesters gathred in the area continued Sunday, DPA reported.
"Security forces killed one person during a raid in Bayyada district of Homs while two others, among them a child, were killed in the heavy shelling that targeted the city," Omar Idlibi, a Lebanon-based Syrian activist, told dpa.
The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also spoke of "violent clashes" taking place between government troops and a group of deserters in the southern region of Talbisseh.
