Kofi Annan, the United Nations-Arab League envoy to Syria, arrived in Cairo Wednesday for talks on the Syrian crisis, dpa reported.
He is to meet with Arab League chief Nabil al-Arabi to discuss the pan-Arab bloc's efforts to end nearly a year of bloodshed in Syria, sources said in Cairo.
The former UN chief is also to hold talks on Syria with Egypt's Foreign Minister Mohammed Kamel Amr, before visiting Damascus on Saturday, the sources added.
