An explosion rocked Saturday the outskirts of Aleppo in northern Syria, killing and wounding several people, a human rights group said, DPA reported.

The blast occurred in the al-Zarzeer region, the London-based Syrian observatory for Human Rights said.

It came an hour after two explosions in the capital Damascus targeting the Social Military Institute had wrecked nine cars, including military vehicles, and shattered windows in nearby buildings, activists said.
