Nothing can spoil good relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said on Thursday, the ISNA agency reports.
"Good relations between Tehran and Riyadh will not be spoiled. And if there is any disagreement, the parties will discuss and decide all questions," Larijani said.
He noted that the relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia are more than just diplomatic, and countries should combine their efforts to serve the Islamic world.
The tension in relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran intensified after the demonstrations in Bahrain in the spring of 2011. After Saudi Arabia, along with the UAE sent troops to Bahrain for the establishment of stability in the country, Iran condemned the Riyadh, accusing it in the occupation of Bahrain.
Saudi Arabia, in turn, accused Iran of fomenting inter-religious conflict in the Arab Gulf countries, particularly in Bahrain, Kuwait and the eastern provinces of Saudi Arabia.
