The UN Security Council has today extended 300 international observers' staying in Syria for 30 days. All 15 member-countries voted for a resolution, RIA Novosti reported.
"The resolution essentially calls for ceasing violence," Russia's permanent representative Vitaly Churkin told Russian journalists after the voting.
He added that this "key amendment" was included in the resolution proposed by Great Britain upon request of Russia and China.
Churkin said that Russia considers this resolution as balanced.
