The total number of people who have fled Syria to neighbouring countries rose to at least 147,000 last week amid violence in Aleppo and other regions, the UN refugee agency said Friday in Geneva, reported dpa.

The total number of people who have fled Syria to neighbouring countries rose to at least 147,000 last week amid violence in Aleppo and other regions, the UN refugee agency said Friday in Geneva, reported dpa.

The office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said that there were thousands more who had yet to be registered in Lebanon.

Turkey recorded more than 6,000 new arrivals this week.

Some 50,000 refugees have been counted in Turkey since the start of the conflict, 46,000 in Jordan, 37,000 in Lebanon and 14,000 in Iraq, according to the UNHCR.
