Qatari-donated fuel to Gaza has again been suspended due to the security situation in Egypt, security sources said Sunday Maan reported.

Officials said the last delivery, of 235,000 liters of fuel, crossed on Wednesday, but transfers were since halted until further notice.

Unrest in Port Said, Suez and Ismailiya caused the suspension in deliveries, the security officials said. There is also a financial dispute between the Egyptian border authority and Egypt's petroleum authority over the payment of truck delivery fees, the officials added.

Violent clashes between Sinai armed groups and Egyptian forces led to a suspension in deliveries last November, but they resumed earlier in January.

The Qatari fuel is part of 27 million liters donated by the Gulf state to ease Gaza's energy crisis. It was delivered to Egypt and is being transferred to Gaza with Israeli cooperation through the Sinai border region.
