Hezbollah is the cause of inter-confessional clashes in Syria, the former head of the organization Subhi al-Tufayli said, Al Jazeera channel reported on Wednesday.
According to him, Hezbollah's participation in military operations against the armed opposition in Syria will lead to the fact that the conflict will get a lager scope, becoming a Sunni-Shia conflict.
Earlier, the leader of Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah declared his intention to continue to support the Syrian authorities in the fight against the rebels. Immediately after that, the Syrian opposition members fired at Shiite neighborhoods of Beirut, and promised to strike at other targets in Lebanon.
