Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem conveyed to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Bashar al-Assad's gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin for his position on Syria at the G-20 summit, RIA Novosti reported.
"The president instructed me to express his gratitude to Putin for his positions during and after the G-20 summit," Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem said.
"We arrived in Moscow in order to exchange our opinions with our Russian counterparts concerning prevention of military intervention in Syria," he added.
