Israel Materials 5 December 2007 12:53 (UTC +04:00)

Israel, Jerusalem / Trend corr. R.Abdullayev / The Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak called for pressure on Iran relating to its nuclear enrichment not to stop, NEWSRU agency reported on 4 December.

"We have a lot to do regarding the Iranian nuclear program, and I would like to mention that nobody can stop this racket with words. We should continue to impose sanctions upon Teheran," said Barak during a meeting with the chief of the General Office of the Hungarian army on his visit to Israel. The statement was made owing to a report made by the United States National Research Service stating " Iran froze its nuclear program in 2003".

Barak called the American report 'insufficient'. According to the Israeli Defense Minister, Iran restored its nuclear enrichment program during the period stated in the report. Barak referred to the head of the Pentagon Robert Gaits "I would like to mention once more: Iran causes a threat to Israel and the whole world. We should be ready to resist the danger".

A source at the Israeli defense services discloses that the report was developed to soften the situation, but does not deny the information Israel has. Referring to the source of the information it can be said that Iran may develop a nuclear bomb within six years. The problem should be carefully considered.

Sources deny suggestions that the threat from Iran is exaggerated in order to get additional funds for defense.
