( dpa ) - An Israeli airstrike on a home in the centre of the Gaza Strip Friday night left at least six Palestinians dead and more than 30 wounded, according to medical officials.

The Israeli strike hit a home east of Bureij refugee camp, said the sources. The house belonged to Ayman Abu Fayed, 42, a leader of Saraya al-Quds, the military wing of Islamic Jihad.

Abu Fayed was killed in the raid along with five other people, including women and children, when the missile levelled the three- floor building, said the sources.
